First we want to thank you for your interest in InfoRapid KnowledgeBase Builder, our freeware program for creating huge and complex Mind Maps with millions of interconnected items. We have made it free for private use, so that as many people as possible can benefit from it.
Here you can Downloaddownload the latest version of InfoRapid KnowledgeBase Builder. It is free for private use. System requirements are Windows XP and Internet Explorer 8 or newer. The InfoRapid KnowledgeBase Builder consists of a single executable file and requires no installation program.

The program is also available as a pure viewer without editing functionality. The viewer is made for companies where a group of people may only view, but not edit the diagrams. If you're interested in the viewer, then you can download it here.

The special thing about InfoRapid KnowledgeBase Builder is that the size of the Mind Maps is not limited and that they don't get confusing even if they get larger. The following online examples show you how this works.

While pure Mind Map programs are often limited to hierarchical trees, InfoRapid KnowledgeBase Builder can connect any item with any other. The program contains an archive for documents, images and web pages that can be imported and attached to any item or relation. As a Windows application, InfoRapid KnowledgeBase Builder runs locally on your PC. It stores all data in a database on your hard disk. It doesn't make any Internet connection, so that your data will be secure, that's what we stand for.

And this is how it looks like:

How-to's

How do I insert a new item into the database?
Either by pressing the Insert key on your keyboard or by clicking on one of the two buttons in the toolbar of the item list.

How do I insert a new relation between two items?
Select the starting item as root item by pressing this button in the item list. Drag the ending item from the item list into the relation list. You can also connect two items directly in the diagram by dragging one item onto another item. A third way is to drag one item from the item list onto an item in the diagram. And the fourth way is by selecting the ending item in the item list and pressing the button in the toolbar of the relation list.

How do I import documents and images into the archive?
The easiest way is to select them in the Windows Explorer and to copy them into the clipboard. Switch back to InfoRapid KnowledgeBase Builder and select Paste from the Edit menu. Importing takes some time, the status bar shows the progress. Importing can be canceled by pressing the Escape Button. The second way is to press this button in the toolbar of the archive list and to use the import dialog.

How do I import web pages into the archive?
The easiest way is by copying the url into the clipboard and pasting it into the archive. The second way is by using the web import dialog by pressing this button in the toolbar of the archive list. You can also import complete web sites with the command "Generate Sitemap" from the Tools menu.

How do I attach documents and images to items and relations?
Just drag them from the archive list to the item or relation you want it to be attached to. They can be dragged to items in the item list, relations in the relation list and items in the diagram. Many documents and images can be attached to a single item or relation.

How do I use templates for items and relations?
Select an item or relation and press this button in the toolbar of the properties pane. Enter a "Template Name". Now this template can be selected in other items or relations in order to use the same formattings and names.

I want to use the program commercially or in a multiuser environment. Can I purchase a license?
Yes. Additionally to the free Private Edition, which is forbidden to use for non private purposes, there is a Professional Edition for 99 Euro, which enables many users to work simultaneously on the same database. And there is an Enterprise Edition which contains a runtime license for embedding our diagram control into your company's web site. This version can be used on all PCs in your company. Please request a quotation if you're interested in the Enterprise Edition.

I would like to make one request - in order to keep the Private Edition free, please check if you can use the Professional or Enterprise Edition in your company. Otherwise, I can't develop the program any further.
